The Theofilos Foundation provides $5,000 grants to Year 12 students experiencing financial or social hardship, to help ease the burden of costs associated with tertiary studies.
Available to government school students looking to pursue a career in Business, Commerce or related field, the scholarships are intended to assist with expenses not covered by HECS-HELP. Costs that are essential to study life, such as student services, textbooks, stationery, travel and living expenses.
In addition to financial support, scholarships also include ongoing mentorship via the Foundation’s team of Directors and their associated networks. Continuing through the study years and beyond, Theofilos mentorship provides trusted guidance and a valuable resource for personal development, future employment and career progression.
How it works
Application Process
Applications are open from August 6 to November 29. Applications will be reviewed by the Committee, and selected applicants will be interviewed. Scholarships will be offered to successful candidates mid-December for the following year.

Criteria
Student Eligibility
Candidates seeking to apply for a Theofilos Scholarship must meet a minimum criteria prior to beginning their online application. This minimum criteria will be verified by Foundation Committee members to confirm student eligibility. Eligible candidates must:
Be on path to complete VCE in a government school in the year of Scholarship application
Look to commence study full-time upon completion of VCE
Have a strong interest in pursuing a career in Business or a Business related field
Be enrolled in or have completed Commerce subjects as part of their VCE studies
Must be achieving, or have achieved, strong academic results within their own school
Conditions
Due to the nature of the Scholarship, it is expected that recipients are to maintain successful results within their tertiary studies.
At the end of each semester, recipients must provide a copy of their academic transcript to members of the committee for review. Withdrawal of the Scholarship due to unsatisfactory grades or failure of a subject may occur subject to extraordinary circumstances. Failure to provide academic transcripts may also lead to the withdrawal of the Scholarship.
The Board has the discretion to rescind the Scholarship if the recipient is not utilising the Scholarship as intended.
Monitoring recipients in this way ensures that they are making use of the Scholarship in the manner intended by Foundation members.
